Description

The Community Centre of the Municipality of Heraklion with its departments is an organisation that provides holistic support to the residents of the Municipality, through the provision of a range of services, aiming to combat poverty, social exclusion and all forms of discrimination as well as to promote employment. In addition, it provides family and third family support services. The objective of this structure is complementary and supportive to the Social Development Department of the Municipality of Heraklion, in the direction of providing a wide range of social and other services, in order to avoid dispersion of resources and to achieve holistic intervention in many population groups.

The services provided by the staff of the centre:

• Psychosocial Support
• Information and Counselling Support
• Employment counselling
• Liaison with services, institutions and programmes
• Submission of benefits (Social Insurance, Housing, Uninsured Survivors, Birth Allowance, Disability Allowances, etc.)
